wanted 490 maico engine

wanted 81/82. 490 maico engine complete/ in bits/bottom end  /case's crank if you have anything email me at

were building stuart muntz a frankenbike and we need a engine
have all sorta stuff to trade plus cash either way
for instance a 250 square engine or a 73 400 engine or ????????

or even a 73 maico 400 basket case forks wheels engine modified frame .tank seat :o

yeah i know !!!but you never know ,stranger things can happen we can  get one from the usa  but the exchange rate is terrible
id even settle for a alpha one and scrap the bits we dont want

The Alpha one motor is fine, just change the inlet manifold. Easier to find..

thats what ive got in my 79  frankfurter  ,even if you remove the angleld inlet of a 82 barrell its still to long to fit carb rubber boot to air box so you have to machine the inlet back and down in size so the carb go straight on and it fits  in easy

That explains why i had to get another manifold made for my 490, i thought they had sent me the wrong one. Had nothing to compare it to and didn't realise '82 cylinder inlet was different.

Yeah i'm watching that.. interested to see what they're worth nowadays. Or what people are willing to pay.

yeah im watching that engine   on ebay
we have a  79 frame 81 forks tripples swimg arm  tank  hubs rims  and a few other bits .im just waiting for gary kortz  to give us a engine price  and the other guy on ebay has other engine avail to
