what time does raceing kick off at barrabool

It started about 9, finished about 4 30 . and what a day .Heaps of old bikes and new bikes . 38 races for the day . big fields in every race. It had everything from wild crosswinds on the huge tabletop catching seasoned campaigners out ,to 15 year old kids jumping the huge 30 metre triple on the back straight . Personally i had a great day ,no crashes and 2 solid 2nd lasts ,one from a holeshot ,tough competiton . I'm no longer a Viper Virgin and was pleased with my day but my kids sorted that out they thought my racing sucked and was too slow. I didnt care as i opened a bundy ,with the cook driving home in bumper to bumper traffic (bloody Geelong Supporters). Anyway thanks to All the Viper Boys and the SMCC for a great  event.

hilly my young bloke forgot to put the batterys that were in the kitcken in the car so the one in the camera went flat in a couple of min   so no pics  next time hey  when you up the front  of the pack

So has Barrabool been saved? On the old forum its future looked very bleak indeed. Hopefully it has been rescued.

Hah i dont know if i will get to the front of the pack but i will be riding there again as the track has got a extension of 2 years  so if you havent got your name on the wall now is the time to buy a tile to save the track .

Here is another video from that round ,this was my 2nd race for the day and after remembering Lee Hogans words i found myself briefly at the pointy end of the field ,I then realised that with zero rear suspension i didnt really want too hit the first jump in front of the pack . This weekend on Sunday March 7th the Sporting Motor Cycle Club is holding a special Membership Drive Ride Day.

The day is open to S.M.C.C. members and those interested in seeing what the club is about. Track will be prepped! (extra helpers needed 4.30 pm Saturday 6th working bee please!)

Memberships will be taken from 11am till 12.00 midday with riding sessions in the afternoon till 5.30pm. Riders will be split into Senior and Junior categories.

Memberships fees for 2010 have been greatly reduced! No increase in ride fees! Junior $90
Senior $120
Family $150

A yearly Ride pass is available for a flat rate of $100 or pay as you go.

Big Picture Wall tile holders receive special benefits!

If you are unable to make it on the day don’t worry, membership forms are available on www.smcc.com.au.

Members will have reciprocal access to all non competitive practice ride days at McAdam Park in 2010. The circuit is open 3 to 4 times per week excluding racing weekends.

The McAdam park circuit is located at Haines Road Barrabool and only 45 mins from Melbourne C.B.D. Melways map 611 D7

Hoony ,being a  membership drive-- there is a window of opportunity there for  VMX  to rockup in your numbers and get a future ride for a club date of SMCC 2010 calender... support class etc

Its a good laugh reading some of the old stuff,bit like looking at the old 70's pic's with tight jeans, short plaid skirts and unblinged bikes-----you did what    you wore what    you believe in that  you smoked that  you listened to what  ......time warp

Up until a few years ago they did have a pre80/evo class in their club meetings, in the early years there was a good following but towards the end it was just me running in with the enduro class so they dropped it.
