Plenty of guys racing buckets with the Bucket Racing Association use an XL185 barrel and piston on the 125 bottom end.  Ideally, you run the 125 crank in a 185 motor.  Apparently the 185 cases are slightly stronger and can handle more RPM.  But the gear ratios are probably different so you may end up transferring the 125 transmission into the 185 cases too.

You have to machine the barrel down to get the compression height right.  I believe you also have to use the 125 cam chain.

I don't have all the details but I have seen a bunch of Honda CB/XL/SL125 based 150cc engines running in the Superlite class with the Bucket Racing Association using all Honda parts.

You can still get the new sleeve 150cc kits from the USA via Ebay ,Dear as poison.  >:( I have found they offer very little if anything over the 3mm overbore kits which equate to 138cc, Use the standard head and base gasket, Do not require fitting new sleeve and machining out of cases to fit and rings are the same as some Chinese kits. Having said that I do have SL 100/125 bores sleeved to 150cc, 162cc 184cc ,and one 99cc stamped SL100 bore at 206cc....

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Bert knows about this problem. He has been in touch with the guys who look after the site and as soon as it's repaired the next day it simply reverts back to the sentinel crap. He was supposed to have a new site up by christmas 08 but unfortunately it still hasn't been done. If you wish to phone Bert his number is (07) 3868 1662. He was there this morning but good chance he'd be shut now till Tuesday ;) pretty sure he's all out of the big bore kits at present as I was hunting a 150 kit for the sl100 a while back.
