Had a test ride today and all is well. The lump is down to the size of a baseball and doesn't cause any stress. My knee & ribs are still a bit sore but I am good to go for VCM at Barrabool next weekend. I think the cause of the accident was the bike, as I'm still dumbfounded as to what happened. I discovered today that the bike ('81 Husky CR430) has a rather nasty probem. The bike starts easily, runs and idles nice but once warmed up it revs out at full noise to the point that it won't switch off and you have to stall it. I checked the obvious but couldn't find a fault. I'm tipping an air leak somewhere when it gets warm. I'd say this is what happened when the bike took off and slammed me into the side of the jump. I had a good look at the area and it looks like I hit the concrete pipe under the jump as it has a fresh crack and a couple of fresh chips in it. This would also explain the amount of trauma to my thigh, ribs & knee. The forecast for Barrabool looks like mud, mud & more mud! See you there.
Cheers,
K
