ID required and estimate please

HEy guys i picked up this H6 for a handful of beans,but need to what the details are cause i want to use it in a trade so i need to know what it is and a value so i can be honest in my trading .

The bike is original as far as i can tell low KMs, original guards and things ( they all have the M stamps) also has amal carb so guessing that orig too, seat is unmarked, and head never been off ( facing the right way  ;D)

looks to have ridden a few KMS on the road then parked, its just dusty and missing the brake light lens.

NOW being an air cooled motor im guesing it late 70s, but it looks the same as the VR  and V75 motor - which brings me to another point should i keep the motor and put it in a pre 75 frame , will it fit and is it a follow on motor ?

Failing that what would it be worth "ish" like i said cost me next to nothing but i need to know the real value so i can fair trade.

And also with a engine number of 54M 08678 what year would this be ( and as mention is it pre 75 follow motor i could use in Vr progect ?

how long is a pce of string, I know Big K had a fully restored VB 360 Mock up(Based on a H6) for sale for a while and it got around 1500 for it. The H6 are not as disirable as the cappra's. And I would say it is 81/82 looking at it.  I would say in a swap 1g should be a fair price if it was restored probly 2g+. That is what I would think it would be worth.

Freaky, I'm not certain and I've never been able to follow Montesa Model designation or the progress of their models - they seem inconsistant with slight variation. However, I've seen this bike described as a '79 H6. 


If that's true its a strange beast. I thought most Monty Enduros were enduro-ised MX'ers as below. This one doesn't follow that mold.





But this presumed  '79 does not seem to be a direct MX rip off. It has the VB style centre port motor and the VA style frame with an up pipe, and other odd little mix and match details.

To your q's. The centre port motor will not fit earlier VR frame; the centre port and the e/cases mounts.

I wouldn't be breaking it up or MX'ing it. 1/ it too good and close to original to bastardise and 2/ the 6 speed box would be a poor MX'er.

Get it and keep it as a Vinenduro mount ;) ;D.

YEp thats the one up top for sure.   

We dont have Any vinduro's over here so its absolutley no use to me, bit like pre 80 or 125 classes, just dont have any fields to ride it in, so ill be moving it on, its sitting in my shed ATM so its just taking up air and concrete.

Just needed to know year and value to make fair swaps, also if that engine no good for a pre 75 project then its really no point hanging on to it, wether its in orig condition or not.

some nice pics in there mx, i really want to get onto one of these VR's now , i think they look the good in a strange mismatched way

I have what is supposed to be a H6 250 enduro, but it has the red earlier style tank (250H) and a different seat than the one with the yellow tank, otherwise looks the same. It has H6 enduro decals on the tank and is plated 3/80. Maybe the one I have was old stock decaled up and complianced late.

The 79/82 Enduro 250 H6 used the V75/VA style frame with the single down tube.  The exhaust actually still used the
earlier style collar and exited out the left like earlier models. (I actually have an NOS pipe in stock!)  one notable feature was
the dual mounting locations for the rear shocks.  It was also the first Enduro model to use a plastic fuel tank.
It is a rare model, as they only produced 800 of them.

I have a later 250 H7 1984 I think, it has the reed valve centre exhaust engine, Frame looks almost identical to the VG MXer with white Acerbis plastics. It is complete although not in as excellent condition as your H6. I paid $1900 in the first half of last year, before the market dropped some what. I probably paid top money for what I got. Now having found a couple of surprises I paid, in hind sight,too much (I am famous for my 20/20 hind sight - dam it) The H7 is also a rare model (not sure of number manuafactured).

Hey MX250 yours is all orignal including the muffler tool bag ect. and is a good goer, I recon you didn't do to bad, You got onto it quick enough after I called you about it. The ad was pulled down with hours.

The 2 position for the shocks is a bit gay thou isnt it ? like really that little bit aint going to make a great deal of differance to anything other than the pillion sandels.

Has a rego plate on it so i can always ring rego and ask when the plate was first rego for the road i guess. :P

The 2 shock position is an engineering better way of allowing for additional weight rather than ramping up the preload. The angle change would be more effective than 10-20mm of preload, but a much greater hassle to do ::).
