Kick starter question
« on: March 28, 2009, 10:16:38 pm »
Does anyone have a 2001+ YZ250 that they could measure the diameter of their kick starter shaft on?  And also how many splines are on it?

I'm trying to see if a 2001+ YZ250 kick starter lever will fit onto a 1972 DT2 shaft.  I need more clearance and the recent YZ250 kick levers hang out from the frame more compared to the older style ones.

Thanks,
Chris.

Don't the newer levers use a nut on the end of the shaft (or a bolt into the shaft), rather than the old style pinch bolt/clamp on arrangement?

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Looks like the RZ350 kick starter might be the go.

This is what you need, the RD350 and DT2/MX250 use the same diameter shaft, spline and kickstart knuckle.
