Help 1983 250 GS

Can somone please advise where i can get engine main bearings & a piston kit for a KTM 250 GS 1983.
The mains are a 2 piece bearing that is shimmed for clearence. Any advise on rebuilding this motor welcomed cheers Bill :)

try boltons ktm kynton victoria they bought all of floods spares.   DREW

Any advise on rebuilding this motor welcomed cheers Bill :)

rebuilt my 350 but was some time ago Bill, from memory the water pump area is bitch to rot out, you have to set the piston deck height carefully as they are high compression little brutes and be careful of the crankshaft end play.

BILL HAD ONE IN 1984 GREAT BIKE RACED MX AND TRIAL ROAD IT ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE KICK START FALLING OFF FLOODS WHERE THE IMPORTER BACK THEN I NOW BOLTONS WILL HAVE WHAT U NEED.   DREW

hi bill,   i have the m25 bearings and a rod kit for this motor,( cheeseslice`s ol bike?) as far as i know the  pistons are avail original 71mm or 72 mm,  sizes inbetween are avil @ around 300eurouch, i can bring the bearings over or will have em @ rnd 5
250 gs (aircooled right?) 83mx was watercooled
got a repair manual & spare parts manual for this model also
give us a ring if you want the bearings & rod kit  b4 rnd 5     871 6588  waikato

try using the flat roller equivalent. have used in a few race motors as of late and had no problems. Also no shimming required. Also cheap to buy compared to the magneto bearing equivalent that ktm used.

Bill,

Adrian from OzKTM recently built my 1980 250 motor for me. For the main bearings we used SKF NJ 305 (c3 clearance). As he said, no shims required. The bike has been running now for 3 months with zero issues. Inner race of the bearing was put on with heat and a good deal of care.

I got my piston and con rod kit etc from Alan at Penton Parts USA. Very good to deal with and has provided great after sales service.
