Would that be the dog that ate the budgie?

Don't worry Damo, Blacky had a coffin tank on his CZ , the side piper has the nice soft round one,

This wasn't really a challenge and I have no doubt Damo will cut faster lap times than me and could probably podium the bike in evo classes,
But I like to watch good riders, prepared to have a go ride my bikes so I can see what the bikes  capable off
Damo you may even be surprised how capable the old bikes are,
The difference for me is that one lap on the pre70 bike is equivalent to about six lap's on an evo bike as far as physicality goes.  Big jumps aren't to bad, chopped up braking  areas ,and close short stutter type sections,
are the worst, so it sounds like Fairburn should be fine ,
looking forward to it.
Cheers

I was making mountains out of molehills.  Rode the new track today.  It's fine.  Bikes new and old will have a ball.

Yep, I have to say I am really looking forward to riding the new track. I wasn't able to ride there this weekend so next weekend is it - I think the RM will be all back together by then.

The track looks fantastic. I'll try to get some pics out there tomorrow... The jumps are looong, but designed so that you can either jump the lot, or make them into two. The fast bits are fast, the corners look great, and overall I am blown away what a great job they've done of it. I can only see it improving as it beds in and they adjust it as necessary. Dennis reckons it'll be prepped just right for the vintage stuff next weekend so it's all go.

Even a CZ should lap it up.

I reckon Denni, Gezza or Snowy should report on the track given they all raced it today. I dropped by for a short while and was even more impressed, especially watching the pros (Marmont, Boyd, Mackie etc). Our boys seemed to get around OK, but the modern bikes really rip a track to shreds, especially when it's brand new. The surface looked fantastic and once it gets ripped and prepped again through the week should be tops. Here are some pics:

So, I reckon next weekend is looking good. Especially if there's some entertainment Saturday night! Anything planned Dennis?

Hey Dennis (or any other Canberrans that might know)

Is it okay to camp Friday night?

The track looks awesome can't wait to get out there. Canberra has always been great and I reckon this is one round not to miss.

Cheers

Listen Shaun,

You're on double, double secret probation. You dont need an extra night on the soup.

I'm still in trouble for you and Rossco's PA address, now dubbed "Heaven Late Night Theatre". I feel a smoking jacket and pipe are in order on my return.

I am suspended for the round, so you and the Evil Accountant will have to carry on without me.

Yours in ball slapping sincerity,
Rudy

Just won't be the same with out you oh Evil Leader  :) We will now turn to the Accountant to guide us in the ways of Evil.

Your sage advice to our younger disciples is going to be sorely missed.

Who else is travelling to the Capital this weekend?

Cheers
Shaun

Evil Rosco is out for this one, going to spend quality family soccer time with the young bloke seeing as unable to ride :'(

No PA system for the Heaven late night theatre ??? shame Mr 555, Shame as our latest porn star Pauline would say (but it is understandable why you need your beauty sleep)

Evil Rick along with his evil Novocastrian cronies and bottle of turkey should keep with tradition ::)

Shaun, I am still dumbfounded and cant believe you got away with vindicating that poor EVil Rudy chap and myself,

The track on the Pics looks pretty sedate, wheres the jumps, what was all the who-har about, whod of thought it was going to be a flat track and who was riding your bike to get that much air Dennis :-\

Noel, it sounds like Damo is pretty close to taking up your offer and Team Red Devil racing themselves have given there permission for a Saturday ride session, reading between the lines, its a near sure thing

Are you taking the video along Dennis, sure a lot of Mexicans and XXXXers and even a Kiwi or two are keen for a look as well ;)

On the not so serious side, Have a great safe weekend, always good going to Canberra for a ride and a drink ;)

Yeah, the track is fine. Here's a couple more pics.

You can see here that the big jumps have stepups which you can just kinda jump a little, then the jump proper has a rounded face. So if you are brave and want to try to get up on the tabletop, it won't hurt if you land short.

The little jumps on the front straight look easy enough to clear - all the lads managed it on Sunday.
