No broken femur, a couple of cracked ribs and a mashed left knee but the big problem is the haematoma. I've ruptured the deep femoral vein and it's bled pretty badly. No surgery at this stage (I hope not at all), but they need to keep a close eye on it as the complications can apparantley be disastrous. It looks like I won't be able to ride for the next 3-6 months, I hope they are wrong. Not much pain at the moment thanks to the morphine. I will get a photo up when I get out, you won't believe the size of this thing. It looks like I've shoved a football under the skin on my thigh. I got the nice nurses and my wife to take some happy snaps. Thank god or whoever that I decided to take the trip to the hospital, there was a while there I thought I'd be able to tough it out and ride tomorrow. The dry conditions caused the 430 to bitch slap me straight into side of a jump in my back yard. I can't believe the damage such a low speed crash has caused. Just a freak accident I guess. I'm pushing hard for them to let me out tomorrow so I can at least get a look at the days racing. Depends on whether they can find the pulse in my left foot which is conspicuous by its absence at the moment. I really don't like being here.
Cheers,
K
