TM125 Forks
« on: March 09, 2009, 12:57:25 pm »
Just wondering if anyone has some good tips on improving TM125 forks.  I ntoice there is no rebound spring, for example, and the springs are not progressive.

Thanks

YSS PD valves and these...

will take you in the right direction or you could fit a TS/TF 125/185 inline axle front fork set as they are 33mm as opposed to the TM's 30 and look close to identical externally to the TM's

i think you will find that the 33mm TS forks are only on the leading axle models from about 79 onwards

yep I'm with Bill, replace your clamps with TM250 items or have your 125 clamps reamed out to 35mm and the options available multiply 10 fold. I run TM250 lowers with mid 80's DR250 internals and another has XL250 honda forks and both work a whole lot better than the 30mm spaghetti forks they came with ;) a little note also, RM80's had 30mm forks, though a little longer the lowers swap over but unsure of performance as I never ridden the bike that has them fitted :-\

Ok thanks guys.  Yeah I was quite surprised when I pulled the TM forks apart - thought the tiny spring was some kind of 'primary' and looked down the tube for the 'secondary' spring which of course wasnt there.  The damper rods would make some kind of neat drinking straws I reckon  :D
