« on: March 08, 2009, 06:02:57 pm »
This is the start of my TSM125 vinduro special with a fresh coat of silver and gloss spashed on only moments ago ;D pretty riveting stuff eh but they all have to start somewhere..the scrap bin in this instance :D

this is the bike I am hunting the RM125S/M sidecover for although it's actually neither an M or an S..a little fugly to start with but a bit of grinding and shaping has it okay :)

stay tuned.. :P

Paul it had me interested enough to try and rebuild it to it's former glory and from what I can see the mod was done back in the day around '75ish. Bill, yup, the frame is TM125K but the rear is 100% fabricated. I thought at first it simply had an RM rear cut but it's not. I took a square, a tape and string line and sure as eggs it's straight and symetrical enough for me. The shock angle is a little excessive but I'll give it a go before I go changing the swingarm shock mounts just incase by some fluke it suits a flyweight like myself. I don't know if you ever remember the T&M Eng. Elsinores of the 70's ridden by Americans Bruce McDougal and/or RonTurner, anyway it's this T&M theme I'm using on this bike so hopefully it will have the same eye catching appeal but in more the early Suzuki shade of orange rather than the very orange orange they used way back when;D

here's the T&M bike

and a small glimpse of what's to come

If it was in NZ Doc I'd swear that frame was mine!

Really Brent! :D pretty sure I have another similar one on the way both thanks to Cyclone Sully in CQ but I was thinking of doing the TS185 deal with that one since I need another 125 like a hole in the head ::) It's tidier with the laid forward mounts but not in quite the same fabrication style as this one. It's only rubbish if you can't use it and while they are modified they're still certainly useable for projects and utilizing other otherwise near useless/worthless parts ;D this one gets the '77 TS125 with the RMS gear and the TS/TM125 motor goes back into the post classic TS to keep it pre'72 dirt track eligable..well sorta..so long as they overlook the TM bits ::)

Thanks for the offer Tim, if you wish to sell the pipe you have a buyer ;) if you happen to spot any useable RM/TM seats and I'll proably buy those as well ;D

Doc have tracked down a seat for you. Is on a RM125S (Looks like a TM engine???)  Basically complete bike (except for pipe bugger!) but in pieces. Yep has the plastics. Working on price  you interested.

thanks regardless Tim, one never knows if one does never enquires about such things ;)

fitted a new front tyre and bolted up the XL250 forks to zee hybrid today. DR500 front guard found a new home and the shocks I dug up are Honda something or other :P had to replace the upper eyes from 8 to 10mm but ya get that using the shonky honda bits :-X Seems to be coming together okay and they sure don't come any cheaper for a tin arse like me ;D

swingarm had a small mod on each side just back from the pivot..never knew there was a problem with them :-\

I'm wondering why you haven't made/shouted yourself a bike stand yet, they make working on them much more bearable.
