I know this is probably a long shot BUT will a 74 XL175 cam tensioner fit a 74 XL250? Going by pictures only they look indentical and I know that the 175,250 and 350 shared a lot of frame and some engine parts.

Yes these seem to be more rare than rocking horse shit.  I know the 250 and 350 are the same. If I find a new one I have a used one in serviceable condition that your welcome to have.
If someone has a NOS one out there please PM me.

The cam chain TENSIONERS of each bike, 74 XL175, 74 XL250K1 and the 74 XL350 are all different.
Part numbers respectively are 14500-362-000, 14500-329-003 and 14500-356-003.
The cam chain GUIDES of each bike are the same - part number 14611-376-000 (supercedes 14611-329-000)
