Came across these - and one of our guys is setting up distributioon here in South Africa.

they could be for the OS market only....or I'm been living in the bush too long.

never heard of them either, my favourite brand is Handmedown, they worked great so far.

yup heard and seen them but I have never run one to know anything else. Pretty sure Brent J runs a MotoZ on his HL.. :-\ Brent??

They are an Australian mob. Apparently design in Oz for OZ conditions ::), but made in Thailand :P.

They look the business 8), that's a plus. Their prices don't suggest that they are aimed at the cheap end of the market.

whoa!..was just looking at the prices mx and yup, I'll stick with the Viper's, Maxxis, IRC's or Dunlop's and save myself a few $ ;D

"Our tyres are very different.

The main difference between our tyres and the rest is obvious. Just look at them. For almost three decades, off road tyres have changed very little. Without exception (that we can see) the tread blocks have been arranged to throw the terrain out the back, and in several cases conventional tread block placement guides the terrain under the centre of the tyre before throwing it out the back. This is a good concept for boat propellers or trench diggers, but not the best solution for motorcycle tyres engaging the terrain to create traction.

Terrapactor
Motoz tyres work on a unique concept called "Terrapactor®" (terrain compactor), which uses the tread block design and placement to help compact, compress or wedge the terrain creating extra traction, drive and lift. This unique concept coupled with the use of superior rubber quality works to lessen the impact on the terrain and provide extra traction.
The Pure Substance of Traction

A major difference between our tyres and the rest is rubber quality. Motoz Tractionator Series tyres are made with 100% natural rubber, something unheard of these days due to the high cost involved. Nothing else provides the same elasticity, reflex and deflection for the best traction as natural rubber - nothing else performs like the pure substance of traction. Tracula and Terrapactor Series are hybrid compounds but retain a high natural rubber content. Every one of our tyres is what others might call "special race compound" reserved for their race teams.

Build Quality
Another major difference with our tyres is our heavy duty case construction. We use dense weave ply cord so greater strength and higher ply rating is achieved with less ply layers. We then double up on the side walls for maximum strength, and add a vertical reinforcement section between the sidewall layers for greater sidewall strength. The carcass is protected by a thick layer of rubber under the tread and around the sidewalls to help minimise punctures.   This layer also acts like a cushion zone and allows a small amount of flex under the tread blocks to aid reflex traction and reduce chunk off, increasing tyre life. It also acts as a heat sink to help cool the tyre in extreme conditions.

The sidewalls and rim area are specially designed to protect the rim, but also to minimise "pinch flats" - yes we ride too and hate fixing flats; we did something about it.  People try all kinds of things to eliminate flats, like mousse (which causes as many problems as it solves), tubeless etc.  Why not just build better tyres. "

Well, I've been running them on my 05 YZ125 for about a year, and I believe this year they've made some improvements to the design.

Hard to say if my views are useful as I am probably not a particularly discerning rider. But I am very happy with them. I ride mostly intermediate terrain with a little sketchy hardpack, and so far I've had no problems. The rear hooks up fine, and the front feels OK. Maybe not the best, but pretty good. I really depend on a good front tyre, and this one feels nice and stable and predictable. In softer conditions I'd rather the Michelin S12, but on hardpack it's much better. I have maybe 5 hours use on them in that time, and they've held up well. I'll probably stick with them. That said, I run Dunlops on my vintage bike and will stick with them. I think the Dunlops feel a little more predictable overall, but then again trying to compare a 75 125 with an 05 125 is a bit pointless...

I rate the Motoz tyres.

You're right Doc, I put a MOTOZ on the front at your place. It a "Tractionator X Circuit" soft/intermediate tyre.

It cost me $105 but considering where I live that's not a high price. I've found it doesn't like hard ground with a shallow loose surface, it tends to skate and plough in ruts. On a soft or deeper loose surface it just grabs and holds on. Works well in mud too, it will climb out of ruts on one of our wet season trail rides. The XT (wish it was an HL Doc ;D) does need a good front tyre being fairly heavy.
I'll buy another as they seem to grip and last very well. I'm surprised at how well it wears considering the grip and the amount of use it gets.

The rear is a match to the front. I went with a 120 and it's quite rounded. It lets the bike tip into corners so much easier than before but grips really well when leaned over.
The tread leans BACKWARDS! seriously! The front edge of all the knobs lean back at 45 degrees. As the front of the knobs round off it makes no difference to the drive. It must rely on the tread shape rather than the edges.
This one is not so fussy about the ground surface but they do like to slide. They mention this in the advertising but either it is less inclined to slide as it wears or I'm getting used to it. Should make a great flattrack tyre.

This one cost $135 inc freight to Darwin. From the riding both tyres have done I'd say they will last well and I'll try more.

Alison - Johnno in our club sells them - few guys that do have them swear by them but up against some pretty hard competition in S12's over our way!

Motoz are excellent if you want a long lasting tyre, about average for grip though according to a few clients who have puchased them. I personally haven't used them. I've been using Pirelli MT320's front & rear on my vintage bikes and am really happy with them, but the supply has dried up for the moment so I am about to try some Metzler MC5 intermediates. I sell quite a few to trail riders and they rave about them in most conditions and always come back to buy more. They sem to have a fairly long life as well.

I fitted a set to my wr450and a set on a mate of mines 250gas gas,and they stand up well 1st 7 placings in the Finke but we both took them off the bikes as grip wasnt as good as  other tyres i have run

Pirellis are very good for grip but aren't the longest lasting tyres. The Scorpion 32 (MT32) is a great tyre but won't last long on hardpack. Joel Smets would only ever race on MT32's, on any track, although he was happy to practise on the the other compounds. Leisky has also indicated that he really liked MT32's back in the day.

I have only ever run the Dunlop 756's front and rear as I get them cheap.
How would you rate them compared to other brands?
