polishing red tanks

im about to start polishing my cr tank has anyon got a process ot do red tanks ive done white ones before but colours ive got no idea

just do what you did on the white one. no real special methods required since its coloured.

see if you can find a place that sells Meguiars - they actually go out to a 4000 grit sandpaper which is excellent for finishing.

try wet and dry paper and Jif on polishing mop in an electric drill. if you want even more glossier than what the Jif does, use Meguiars Scratch X polish.

dont use jiff i tried it on my rm tank and had to scrape it off because it wouldnt sand out i reckon jiff is only good for white tanks

T cut have coloured polish
they have a red it works unreal
rub it in and buff off
fills all scratches and chips and hides marks
definately worth trying
should get it in super cheap auto or ripco

you use the Jif after sanding as a polish. you dont sand the Jif. myself and others have found that Jif works really well on that period Suzuki plastic, not sure why it hasnt worked for you?

To give the tank a shine I use a soft open mop on my bench grinder and buy the blue coloured soap which is for plastics(not the white one which is for aluminium). Please be very careful and do this process very slowly and do not press at all but just let the tank touch the mop as it is spinning. It is time consuming but well worth while. Practice on an old plastic tank because it is easy to burn/scuff. Use a new mop, not your old aluminium polishing mop unless you want your tank dark grey.

I used it too and to my amazement it worked like a champ!
