Are the DG heads for the MX?

I like the Thor (?) swing arm 8). The Yammy wheel now looks out of place :P. I would research to find a lighter r wheel, with a decent brake , that could replace the boat anchor. And something that looks 'trick' rather than looking like its been stolen off a Trailie ::). Maico? Monty?

The DG heads were just me shuffling about looking for something that would fit.

Purchase price was about $1000 bucks NZD given the current value of the dollar, ;D I cheated a bit and already had the PDI swingarm and shocks in stock, but paid a pricely sum for a nice YZ tank.

I wanted cheap pre 74 with an endless parts supply and I think the MX fits the job description.
Gave it port job and boyesan reeds on the way back together so should shift. Ffnal projects will be fitting spoke kit, tyres and lengthening the seat a little up front.

Marc, if you come across a Webco head it will be a worthwhile addition I think. The only mods I did to mine was the Webco, and 34mm carb. It flew. Did every thing from MX to Dirt Track to Road Race. It was a strong motor in every regard. The Webco was 'sold' with some claim about having bigger fins and better cooling, but I always thought it had more to do with an improved 'Squish' band.

Its looking good 8). You are going to spray it the original silver with yellow black striping ain't you ;) :). Its gotta be an improved MX and not a wantabe YZ :).

Marc,

Have you ever weighed the PDI swingarm? Did PDI claim it as a lightweight swingarm or as a stronger swingarm? Was it intended as a MX specific or did you adapt it from another period swinger?

Just curious ::).
