I agree looks awesome and stimulates my swingarm fetish, has Simons ignition cover. Is it LOP swing arm or were they just sponsor.

ask Scott Stegar at www.vintagefactory.com that looks exactly like the one he built for someone so im 99% sure he would know.

why wont it meet MA rules? im sure this is a replica of a pros bike from back in the day. looks all period to me. I will find out who in a minute.....i got one of those maggy covers. no you cant have it Marc ;D

ok yeah its a Marty Moates 78 125 C replica. i am pretty sure it is a LOP swing arm

http://www.vintagefactory.com/marty_moates_replica__lop_78_su.htm

looks to be the same bike so just email Scott and i am sure he can tell you all about it or put you in touch with the owner

Hi LWC.  why wont it meet MA rules?
Its not  a copy of the original swingarm.
I'm ordering a Novation Swingarm,  but, but fitted,  it cannot be used at the nationals at cannondale, because it it is not a true representation of the original part.
Now,  thats is not the same for all parts,  but definetaly for major frame parts.

WTF??, a novation swing arm is a handmade part?, what so handmade parts were not available back in the day??, it's getting a little out of hand if this is the case... ??? ??? ???

so you cant use aftermarket swingarms? thats would be a disapointment for anyone wanting to build the same and race it. Im pretty sure that would be a genuine Lop swingarm and not a copy as im pretty sure Scott doesnt like to use copy or replica parts and really searches for the right original aftermarket parts.

Hi E74.   Dont mean to upset.  Thats what I have only read twice on the forum in the past...   I have never questioned it with a scrutineer.
Throw it out to some of the more experienced pre-75ers.   Firko/Freakshow?

Fellas the answer has been said before more than a few times. The onus of eligibility for a class is with the rider/owner of the machine.  Front up with s good solid proof* to show that the bike or parts are the deal. * Dated photos, data sheets, spec sheets ,sales pamphlets, magazine or newspaper articles ,Sign verified letters from the manufacturer or builder etc etc. Look the MA regs for that class may override the mods still, but if your case is strong well you may be smiling. Cheers and seek the truth.....Tim754
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Hi Leith

one of those covers conveniently arrived attached to an old 370 motor I bought ;D, one came up on ebay before Xmas. Anyway based on mine I believe some replicas are being made in NZ.

no worries, we are just chewing over how to build the LOP bike, I think the swing arm issue is interesting given the lack of an LOP one at the moment......though I do have cantilever PDI one that would do it.

For those who PM'd me about the mag covers, its under discussion likely they would be in glass or carbon fibre.....yes the same material Team NZ beat the Australians with. ;D

Why ask Freakshow ? ;)

uuummm i dont know.... maybe he just thinks i wont try to sell him somthing  ;)

but i think leith or whoever it was that said it is right if you could buy then -you can ride it now, but you wouldhave to get the drill from a pre 85 racer, thats who youd be racing against and ultimately the one who would or wouldnt protest and then you'd know on what grounds and then just do your homework and proof from there like TIM 754 Said ......  ;)

although having said that beware misdirection there are some who would cloud the issue so you wont use certain parts for there own gain, only to turn up with the same thing month later spruiking its vertues

besides im not even in this thread  8)
