The husky 125 is true classic bike, it will be nice to see other makes on the starting line, not just a japanesse domination all the time, the vintage movement is about the classic bikes, riders and history of that era motorcross, not winning.
good one hole shot.

I didn't know that Husqvarna even made a '74 125 SC , until now . I looked it up on my list of Husky I.D numbers & there it was . What is the difference between a 125 CR & a 125 SC ? Is the SC sort of like the later XC models ? I didn't know that Husky made a '75 460 CR either ( I knew they made a '74 450 CR ) , until I saw one for sale on a US vintage swapmeet site a few weeks ago .

I THINK THE SC IS SUPA CROSS, OR CROSS COUNTRY LIKE DESERT RACING, NOT SHORE.

Mark,

The SC125 meant "semi-close" ratio, as opposed to WR or CR. But it was just a marketing exercise - it had the same ratios as the CR as I recall (Its a while since I looked into it all). Same bike I'm fairly sure. Don't think they made a WR125 in that era. 72/3 CR125 was a bit of a dud in my book (rather slow), but 74/75 SC/CR was quite a nice bike & much more competitive. I had a top-end & pipe for one many yrs ago & the port timing was comparable to a jap 125 of the day. Mag tests of the day rated them pretty well too

RE: CR460, I just happened to be reading some old issues of the Husky club mag on the weekend & there was an article about it too. It likewise was a marketing exercise. 450's were not moving too well & the new GP360s were about to come out so Husky promoted the CR460 as a new bike but it was actually the same as the CR450. (Actually 454cc) Not one of their better bikes IMHO. I have a copy of a test of one from Cycle World.

jc is spot on its a semi close ratio
apparently in the US they prefer these
to the cr in motocross they have alloy triples and betor forks standard
look like they work ok too
will post a picture tonight
shit i have a different brand bike for every class :o
but i love my early huskys and montesas :-*

They do need longer shocks. As I recall Husky ran shorter shocks on the 125 to make it a little lower for little guys, but it raked the front end out. Apart from shorter swingarm, frame is same as 250 etc I believe.
