I have checked the prices of sleeves and by the time i get piston rings etc and the power valve fixed im looking at around $800 plus.

Its abit more than i wanted to spend on the bike, its real shame cause the bike isnt in too bad shape besides the top end.

I have contacted alot of wreckers, i think i need to find some major ones.
I have been searching world wide ebay aswell. I picked the bike up pretty cheap and i think im just hoping for a cheaper fix.

It doesnt worry me if i get new parts or not aslong as they work
Thanks for the replies.

Brett just keep in mind the aussie $ isn't travelling so well in the US and watch the shipping prices as you can be stung like that also. Unfortunately the model you have is kind of in between at present but that can advantageous with prices as the parts that are out there aren't overly collectable and you shouldn't have too much competition, this will all change in due time of course. I'm contemplating a late 80's or maybe even 90's RM250 project for this very reason ;)

I have contacted a guy from one of links you posted and are in talks for all the parts i need to get this bike humming.

This is bike number 6 for atm, so i pretty much have to get this one going and sell it according to the missus.

Hey Brett.
If you haven't already, send an email to [email protected]
Or have a look here. http://www.onthepiperacing.com/garage-suzuki.php
He's in the U.S. and I know the dollar is crap right now, but I've dealt with him before. Even when he didn't have what I needed, he's tried to find it for me. Good, clean parts and honest descriptions. I got a lot of my KX500 parts from him.
Good luck.  ;D

All i have done to it since i've gotten it is give it a good clean, grease afew things, bleed the brakes and weld a section of the frame and exhaust.
I have ordered some rear disc pads and some paint to touch up the frame. So probably spent around $50 at this point.
I'll say i'll keep searching for parts for abit.

BTW.... Thanks for all the replies, this is great forum with great bunch of blokes.
