FILLING WELD MARKS ON ALLOY TANK tank is a mess on 1 side

hi
i have a alloy tank in which the po had cut the side out to fix dings.he then re welded the tank back up.i side is good the other is very rough.what can i use to fill up and smooth out the welds then paint over.

If you grind them down, you grind them away. You are going to have to make them lower than the surrounding material for paint prep as you know. Not seeing  a pic I suspect I would try to sand on the welds-then maybe poilsh/buff them as smooth as possible. If you are a good sheet metal worker you can tap them slightly low and use an appropriate filler. If you leave them raised, you would have to cover the whole side with a filler. Being in the US, I could not advise what type of filler, as I know not what is available to you.

a good quality body filler such as 'Technique' by K&H
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022
