Noted the;
- Aftermarket rear shock (black reservoir)
- New rims (rebuilt wheels at a guess)
- New Pipe & muffler
Fair amount of work and probably a fresh engine.
You won't buy and build a bike like that for less than 6K

Should be worth Bahny's guess in a perfect world by the looks of it, but unfortunately they aren't that desirable which will hold the price back. Andrew's guess is probably closer to the mark in today's environment. You never know though, it only takes one guy who really wants one bad enough to pay the price. I hope you get whatever you want or need for it.
Cheers,
K

thats true....but you gotta look at how desirable is this bike compared to the other pre 85 models :)

yes it's true you won't buy and build one for less than $6K, but as we all know they cost more to build than they are worth to buy so its really a buyers market mostly (with exception of some bikes that are sought after like the 81' 490 maico).

my guess $4 - $4.5K

thanks for the input guys, thought i would ask the experts.
 Walter yes this is the bike you built the shock for, may need to send it back for a service soon. as you know i had the resevoir line altered at my local suzuki dealer (F***ing cowboy T***s) and they buggered it up. Anyway i think the valve they put in the bladder is not holding presure, hence i have no damping.
anyway i was only wondering what these unusual bikes are worth. As one of you said as a restorer you will always spend more than the bike is worth. The list of mods goes on and on and on.
being as these bikes have the tendency to suprise you in the most unusual ways you should always have a spare (440 maico).
again thanks for the input, and happy racing in the new year!

Hope you get a good price for it kristan, i like CR450's because they are Honda's 1st big bore and i like the look of them (well they are Honda's of course) but i have never ridden one, and as they are 1981 models and in the pre 85 class they are not sort after as race bikes. still collectable all the same.
