I'm quite partial to the good ol' crossbar pads
after a chipped tooth and a nice painful ding across thje bridge of the nose some years back they've become a mandatory piece of equipment for near all my bikes. Very much a period items you either like or you don't but unlike bootsavers bar pads are as popular as ever and do serve a purpose

back to original question, im hoping to get one from AMS. i didnt really think they would be such hated items and in the same category as boot savers, but i do agree they look a little out of place on pre 1970 bikes

I'm familiar with the ones worn on building sites - and fork boots - but I assume you're referring to
MX boot
savers...
I quit MX at the end of '79 - did they come in after that?
