« on: January 02, 2009, 04:35:21 pm »
Hello Guys, up for sale is my Montesa VF 250 project bike which is almost finshed after much heart ache. The montesa has been fully rebuilt including new pistion, conrod, case bearings, Big End Little End, Rings aswell as Brand New carby(Mikuni) I have the Bing 54-2. New Sprockets Chain.

It also is a matching engine abd frame bike. Only 600 made in total.

The bike is all freshly powder coated with the correct swingarm, Wheels with orginal rims, New rear shocks(But have the corte cosso's with hangers one need rebuilding). Newly Chromed bars, New Swingarm bushes the works. New plastics, new foam, new seat cover. The bike over all is nearing show room, the bike is only just run in and has been ridden for a total of 10min. The front sprokect came off and hasn't been put back on as of yet with locktite.

Comes with spare swingarm,Tank, Taps, Ect. Box of spares in the shed with all sorts.

I have missed things I am sure But it will be a good race bike.

This Bike owes me thousands, and many hours of assm. Just needs the final touches, then off racing all the hard work is done.

Just had my racing boat sails stolen, so funding new sails.

Can you post up the Engine/frame No please?
That's not the right swingarm in the picture. Did you manage to get a VE/VF swingarm?

Hey ross it is now fitted with the right one with new tensioner from Jared. I will pull it out and take a photo, it also has grips new cables, ect. Front guard is on it, Just thought I would put it up for intrest. As if no intrest Ebay was the Go.

Yet again right forks rebuilt and matching number bike. .
As I said I have never seen another for sale.

Numbers for you Ross 73M15620 this number is the same on the frame to the motor.

All it needs is the finshing touches, and to sort out the airbox with the aftermarket Carby(which is brand new).

I paid $3200 for my VF which was probably more than I should have but it was completly original and complete even had the dinky stand (most of them where chucked over a fence in frustration) and custom handlebar pad (never seen one before). Rebuild is almost complete only the wheels to go. Tom is correct it now owes me more than I could sell it for (thanks for reminding me ouch!!!).

Tom it is sad to see you sell the bike after all the issues you have overcome, you have basically won the battle.

Well I had a VG 2dr Valiant Soft Top for sale and the montesa at the same time which ever sold first was the one to go, the car is gone so no more 318 Fireball action for me..... So the montesa looks like is a stayer, so it is no longer for sale.

So I will finish it off and take it on it's maiden ride at sheep yard flats....

Pity about the Valiant, but I'm sure after a few rides, the excellence of the Montesa motorcycle will put a smile on your face - after all, you could have been left with a Bultaco!
