Rebuilding an old shock is $90  till what ever . It always depends on its condition. Sometimes making a hybrid is the best option . For example rechroming and grinding a shaft is $ 85.00 where a new YSS shaft is only $50 . Same goes for bodies, pistons and seal blocks .

my currency converter says $261 AU plus shipping. and yeah it depends. if your cluey with shocks and know where to get parts and can do the majority of the owrk youself except for maybe the final assembly and regas it can work out a good deal. it all starts to get expensive when you have to pay someone for labour and time to design/calculate things out/look for parts etc which is quite often what is needed when trying to do up old shocks that you can not get parts for and are trying to improve/update etc.

with the fox shocks,Thor Lawson can pretty much help with all parts plus there is another guy who specializes in twin clickers.

So do you think it was worth $280 odd dollars Walter?

well i definitely do especially since its new. you gotta remember that this is a correct vintage period high quality shock from back in the day.

it would have cost more than $280AU back then. i was surprised to see some old prices of airshox back then and they were around the $400pr mark then. imagine what price a new equivalent would be worth now. possibly cheaper these days when you can just chuck a block of billet alloy in machine and a computer will control a machine to cut it out, but i still think they would be exepensive as the prices of raw materials like metals has gone up a lot in past few years.

Unless we make them in big numbers , there is no way to match that . So if you like the fox concept , for $280.00 go for it .
