Caps, if you're wondering about how much the fork should protrude through the top clamp I've seen various settings on differing bikes but I can tell you one thing for certain, the cap should NOT be flush with the top clamp. On my 400C 'when new' the machined groove on the leg lines up with the lower edge of the top clamp. Sliding them all the way in will achieve no extra travel and will result in extra slow steering. As a rule and after trial and error with the 400 I found if I slipped the clamps down till the bike started to get head shakes and then raised them about 5mm it was as good as it gets, ironically this was very near the standard setting of the groove just under the top clamp ::) slide the forks all the way up on any C model and you stuff the geometry and create a bike that just wants to plow straight in corners. Try it and see ;) I don't use any air assistance in any RM forks either out of interest.

in that case 125/250/400 all share the same diameter forks and the same cap extension bit so it gives a few more options. I see the caps for sale on ebay from time to time and usually very reasonably priced and very little interest ;)

Caps,
Thanks to Snowy76 (Birko) i was able to build a real nice 125C. During the build i bought a few shitters from E-Bay and as a result i have a set of forks with the raisers that you are looking for. Whilst i need to keep the lower legs in the situation that i need to convert the Preton Petty No Dive you are welcome to the spacers and what ever else you need aside from the alloy lowers.

All i need to finish the bike (to be 100% accurate) is the proper C model plastic tank.

Caps,
The chrome is shot to shit and would need to be re-chromed, taking a guess it wouldn't be worth the effort. You can either grab the complete forks and take what you need (alloy lowers aside) or i can send you just the extension caps. Your call.

Note: One of the caps is slightly damaged where either the handle bars would have rubbed on it or someone used the wrong size spanner at some point. If you have the rubber caps fitted you will never see anything.
