Kaw USA contacts wanted
« on: November 06, 2008, 11:10:37 AM »
I know this is a long-shot but I can only ask.

Does anybody have emails or know how I may contact former Kaw riders Jim Cooke & John Desoto & mechanics Steve Johnson & Roy Turner?
(TIA)

JC, pretty sure I can get John DeSoto's email addy or contact number through a US contact. I know he is back on Hawaii and this contact is supposedly close friends with John. I've just emailed him asking the question so will let you know when I get the reply.

would that be Scott Andersen of Texas Leith? If so this was the guy I was going to ask, met him through the TM group and same guy who built the beautiful RH68 replica from a TS250 ;)

mmm..Scott Steger, different guy..no worries I'll hound the other Scott :P

Doc,
That'd be great if you can get an email & Ph # for Desoto.
Thanks

still awaiting a reply John. Scott may not be online as much as I haven't seen sight of him since his '69 TS pictures were posted. I'll try again ;)

John, had absolutely no reply to my emails so it looks like I've come to a dead end trying to find J D's contact :-\ in the meantime did you happen to spot the 238cc F21M engine on US eBay. $150 starting bid or $500 buy it now. Pretty sure someone will swoop on it ;)

Thanks Doc.

Dont ya wish somebody would throw in an F21M engine w an F7 here!!  Better still, an F11M engine!

BTW how do I tell if the RM100 engine is B/C model? apart from it looking like a 125B/C engine?

yeah, an F11M would set the cat amongst pidgeons eh ;D

as for the B/C RM100's engine number is best I guess. The B start around RM100 - 16022 and the C finishes at about RM100 - 28312. Obvious indication between B/C and N/T/X is the rear most cylinder stud size on the B and C is 8mm and on the N, T and X they be the smaller 6mm studs. Aslo the B and C model uses a bolt on inlet manifold and the N, T and X use a push-on spigot type ;)
