Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on an air filter box in any condition for a GM frontera??? I have tried Don newell and Peter shoene, no luck there.

Go to hell Lyle, and lighten on the way through. To arrive at hell in your mood would spoil the atomsphere and give the place a bad name.

There would be no forum if people only used it at the rate of .163 per day to suck it dry of info as they saw fit .

lyle the gm is mk 10 pursang , but what u do is get some sheet metal (colour bond offcut from roof manuf. ) i used some stainless , cut it wider than the frame , make it in two pieces , the top with two tabs bent square down , the main part , goes down then follow the profile of the frame , then up , trim it to suit , it is easier to make a template from stiff card  , stick it in the frame then scribe it to the outside of the frame where it seals up to the sidecovers , get the rubber from don , cut a hole in frount to suit bigger than the rubber , sica it in ,it is easy but have a play with some card , i,ve done two in my frontera,s

I have considered making one,so if I can,t find one then I suppose that will be the answer,thanks to all replies.  Even you mx250 and don,t forget a happy pill.

ive got a gold medal 370 yeah its the same part as a mk10 pursang vintage dirt can help you

OK boys lets get the info correct.
If it's a 250 the frame is a modified 180 frontera.The air box from a standard frame will not fit it needs to be modified.
The engine is a 192 pursang with frontera ratio's in gearbox but stamped 492.
It's the same with the 370, 181 frame, 193 motor, stamped 493.
The side covers on mine were originaly pursang from factory not frontera.
Anthony Sutter has an original 250 he may be able to help with an air box?
Don can help with the original rubber tube from air box to carby.

bullymad , if u see my post i have stated the mk 10 pursang air box is what lyle requires , the gm.s aren,t moded 180,s    they are pure mk 10 pursang , ones that wern,t sold after mk11,s were released  , it is easy to stamp a 4 over a 1  ,  he,s been given the correct info

the mk9 and 10 250 frontera was based on the mk8 125 pursang frame ,that,s why a pursang tank is used , the big toolbox top one is too long for them ,  the mk 10 using the bultaco fork lowers , 360/370 used the larger frame , big tank with the mk10 using the big 38mm forks like the gm/mk10 pursang

IMS i have both the frames your talking about.
It is a 180 frontera frame and not a 125 pursang frame even though they are very similar to each other. Check the weight of both and the tubes in the air box area.
The rear swingarm is mk10 250 pursang.
The frame is stamped 180 and the tank is mk 10 frontera.
The 125 pursang air box does not fit exactly and the 125 side covers don't fit?????
I hand fabed a plastic air box exactly to the original.
What would i know i only restored a 492 and 493 lol
