Steve McQueen was indeed one very cool dude. Now that Paul Newman has also died the James Dean/Steve McQueen/Paul Newman 'car guy' Hollywood era has ended. Now it's all poonces like Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom forking Cruise who wouldn't know a decent fast car or a dirt bike if it bit 'em on the arse.

And I thought it was just me who was old, crotchetty and jealous ::).

I couldn't agree more Mark ;) :). Hasn't our society and values changed :'(.  Even our women think a 5 foot prima donna poonce who believes in weird shit like scientology is a better lay than a craigy old 'been there done that' straight talking ex Motocrosser ::) ;D

Or if you have photoshop and too much time on your hands you can have a colour version.

Actually Tony,
5 deadlines today and very busy. Thanks for asking.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I bought the 40 Years Ago Book [damn fine read too] and the poster was included. A quick copy job on the Sinar [a 512mb file], remove the fold lines and then add the colour. I only did it to print and frame on the office wall. Came up a treat and it really adds something to the old B&W images [IMHO].

Same treatment [but with a bit more care] as the Super Hunky image from the current issue.

That reminds me, I still haven't got it on the wall.
Whoops.

You gotta love a guy, who as the highest paid Hollywood star of his day, chose to live in an aircraft hanger so he had room for his bikes and cars [and stuff].

The little 100 Kawasaki he used to get around the airport sold last year for 45K US. It was bone stock except for a Von Dutch painted fuel tank and the fact it was owned by Steve McQueen.

If you get a chance to read the book - Steve McQueen - 40 Summers Ago - do so and you will see what a cool guy he really was. He was no saint, but he did things his way. A great read.

P.S. I would love to hear what he would have thought of that short arse Scientologist bouncing all over Oprahs couch. He would have gagged I'm sure. A different and vastly better era me thinks.

Yeah, I'm not big on celebs but Steve McQ was pretty cool.
Would he put up with roaming scrums of paparazzi in his face?
Me thinks not... 8)
