You can get the later model, black painted NOS bars from somewhere (Speed&Sport, I think) for $69.99.... I can't remember the exact details, but they're not exactly the right bars for all of the models that they're listed for - at least one of the models actually has a smaller diameter cross-brace tube.  (I was told this - not my discovery!;) )

This $700 "or best offer" asking price smacks of "let's see what happens". I don't reckon that they'll sell for $50, but its obvious that the seller isn't expecting anyone to pay $700.

Why  ??? it all comes down to how much you want the correct part. On my income $700 for a pair of bars is a bridge to far , but some people  out there spend more than that on a bottle of wine with lunch. Good luck to him if he can get that sort of money for them , do they come up regulary on Ebay ?

Geez, I have a pair of them in the shed gathering dust NOS and all, looks like they might be gold plated - better move them into the house.....

Why  ???

'Cause if they really thought that someone was going to fork out the $700, then there's no need for "Best offer". Actually, if they really thought that they were worth big money, they'd start 'em on a 99c bid...
