Ok. Expanding on my earlier idea of having ride days similar to the format for Classic Dirt, how about we have "OzVMX day"! We all get together one day a year in a different state with some bigs sticks, an ambulance or three and really get stuck in. The survivors could all go riding.

How about getting some interest in our sport by having a pre-season pony express race where you and 2 mates or other interested parties race as a team. Heres how it could work :
1st race, you start-do 3 laps then change to your 1st mate who does 3 laps and then he changes to mate No.2 and done
2nd race, mate No.1 starts then No.2 after 3 laps then you finish after his 3 laps.
3rd race, mate No.2 starts then you after 3 laps then No.1 finishes after your 3 laps.

That should get a few more bums on seats both riding and spectating.

               They had something very similar at the last Conandale meet up in Sunny Qld but only one lap each , with the rider wearing an arm band that was swapped each lap.

Don't for a minute think I am trying to hijack your great idea. But, I am not sure that another BIG weekend is really what we need, but your idea would make a great 'theme' for next years CD5.

Combining the 2 would make both events all the stronger.

I just think it'd be good if a lot of the guys whom get on here could get together as a group to talk crap, run against each other and belt each other with cycle parts, cans etc. Not a big affair. You must admit that it'd be interested to meet some of these blokes for real........

I don't know about a BIG meeting, but I have often thought about an OzVMX weekend at one of the riding parks near here like Lochmaree. You can hire the place for a weekend if you can round up 30 or so people I think.

Alternatively, the ACT club is resurrecting their Pony Express track. If that happens we could maybe think about an OzVMX Pony Express event - a low key fun type thing. I was thinking about that for late this year, but too many other events on. Maybe early next year though?

Trouble is the calendar is always so full!
