Chinese Made Barrels
« on: October 10, 2008, 08:56:41 am »
Has anybody had experience with Chinese made cylinders? Specifically, I want one for my CT90 and wondered how bad they were.
Not exactly a high performance bike, so I was hoping they might be ok.
Any thoughts out there?
Thanks.  ;D

At least some of the Chinese companies have got their pooh in a pile, particularly when it comes to the Z50/CT90 horizontal cylinder motors.

Have a look around at the 'brand names' in those stupid pit-bikes. They're a pretty safe bet nowdays.

His name is Mr Supat , a customer of us . if The link I put up does not work , try google and then it comes up .

Walter, any easy way of getting bits from them?
$53 + shipping, for a new alloy wheel rim seems just about right for a Fly racer...

I must be missing something but I don't see anything CT90 related.
Or do I need to just email and ask him?

Yes Kun Supat is the man. Just mention  Mr Walter  refered you . As you know we stopped making those shocks for that model 2 years ago , but there must be stuff floating  in Indonesia , Malaisia or Thailand.

Thanks God. But all the ones listed are for pre '74. And they want $US65.00 for shipping. :o
My bike is '67 but I have bought a later NOS head that will fit if I fit a matching late barrel.
I've been offered a s/h one but it's rough and by the time I pay for boring etc..............  :-\
caps, How much do you want for it and I'll ask around if the 110 top end will fit. Not for this bike, but I've got another chassis and bottom end I might be able to turn into a runner too.  Thanks.

Yes, but if a Chinese copy was good enough, I'd be happy with that.

Tony forward or back mounted carby engine which type is the 67/68 ? and do you have the standard bore size for your model . Should be able to find a serviceable barrel for about $20 if you can supply the info. Cheers Tim
In reply to your original question I have dealt with about a dozen Chink/Asian barrels .One dud only and it was quickly exchanged with apology and my freight reimbursed.

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
