YAMAHA SWAPS
« on: July 29, 2022, 07:51:28 am »
Hi Everyone,

The need for more room in my shed has been obvious for some time so I have decided to let go of some parts and projects that I will not use. Up for swaps is a MX 80 frame, exhaust  and motor in kit form that came to me with a TY 80. The motor has matching numbers to the frame and I will upload a photo later.

If anything that I post photos of here interests  you and you have anything Trials related that is surplus to your needs, then please reply or PM me?

My interests in Trials is fairly diverse as I have Italian, Japanese and Spanish bikes from 1970 to 1986 Post Classic era. Your parts might help me get one of my bikes going and I like to ride them all!

Thanks for looking

Hi Everyone,

Just adding some  more surplus Yamaha parts, not sure what this front wheel is off? Maybe someone can help, I sourced it from our local bike wrecker many years ago to try double leading shoes on a Trials bike with limited success. The main problem was not working very well in reverse so in other words, if you did not make a climb and I could not get to the rear brakes then  backwards down the hill it was! Anyway there are tuning forks inside the drum and being gold makes me think mid 1980s? Rim is in good condition and spins true with tight spokes.

This is the brake plate that I used and I am pretty sure it is YZ 465 and maybe other capacities as well?

Thanks for looking and please feel free to correct me or add comments.

Aha now that I look at the tank on a MX 80 frame, you are right! The tank came from a different direction and a different person to the rest of the MX 80 but it does fit.

Thanks for the help frostype400 and Hoony
