help identifying forks

These forks were in the front of my RL250.
They are not RL forks but I don't know what they are
Tubes are 35mm
They have bushes top and bottom
They have open top damper rods
They appear to be KYB and with bushes would have to be early 80's

Check out ER forks Brent. Look very similar

Look a bit like XL500 forks I had some and they are 35mm
But could be XL250 to ?

ER forks above have different shape up top with hole in (cable holder?) and look at brake hub holder it has different shape milled out of it

True, the above are ER185
Perhaps DR as the legs have lower guard mounts as per trail bike. KL forks have usually two holes in the brake lug casting.

no drain screws out the side on the ER,it will be interesting what there off of but someone on here will know,what about TY yams?

TS250ER are 36mm so its not those.

They are either 79 TS250N or 82-85ish DR250S /SP250 USA


Suzuki still had the lower fender mount holes even if the bike had no low fender in Australia or USA for example. It was usually left in there because markets like UK and Germany required/wanted low mount fenders.

They look exactly like mine but the only exploded diagrams I can find are so indistinct they can't be read or they show no bushes.
I'm trying to find the part numbers for the bushes as they forks should be smoother than non bushed type
I'm also trying to find out the offset of RL fork lowers so I can compare them with the forks I have

Not TY, the twinshock 250s were 34mm. The monos are bigger but I can't remember the size, guard mounts are also horizontal at the top of the leg on the monos

Bushes you can get from Racetech and possibly https://www.teknikmotorsport.com or just go to https://www.ggbearings.com/en look throught their catalogues and find the correct size DU bush. Many bearing shops would be able to get them if you cant find them online unless 35mm is oddball special made just for motorbike forks and in that case you need to go to a place like RT or Teknik

Bushes in suzuki forks were not available as spare part pre 1981. Many pre 81 had bushes but they are not shown in parts books. They came in the sliders
