HI
I am wondering if there is a link to a 84 CR500 page with all the bits people have found that fit or need doing etc
or helpful sites to find obscure parts for the old girl.

Google CR500. There are several dedicated forums.
If you love it, lube it.

Google 'Partzilla', 'CMSNL' and 'Megazip.net'  Those parts sites will give you a good indication of what is still available new.
If you want to know what other hondas use the same parts then get the Zedder cross reference program for Honda from here

http://www.zedder.com/index.htm

Its a 35 yrs old bike so just expect to  replace all bearings, seals, cables, gaskets, hydraulic brake parts, forks rebuilt, shock rebuilt or replaced etc. Paint, replate, polish parts etc. Its all pretty much  straight forward. Most importantly get a  correct workshop manual for your bike, preferably genuine plus an aftermarket one.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022
