'75 WR400 bits
« on: March 23, 2019, 12:59:34 pm »
I finally picked up my '75 WR400 Husky, and its missing a few bits...go figure !!.....anyway I'm on the lookout for a pipe, a seat ( or at least a seat base ) and a complete air filter, the funny looking teardrop one.......to start with, I'm sure there'll be a lot more.

....rough but salvageable :P

Cheers

Roger

Probably wrong, (as usual), but that looks like a '74 250cc swingarm. The '75 model WR's didn't get the frame and suspension upgrades.

Yes, it does look to have a "mag 250" swing arm fitted.

The 75 WR models got all the left over 74 parts.. as you all know by 75 the CR's were the GP frames.. so..the "Mag' swing in that bike is stock..

Next question.....does anyone know what shape the airbox is supposed to be??......Rob, Snowy, anyone?......I've seen them with at least three different shapes.

....as I put in the wanteds........looking for a sidestand, to buy or even borrow so I can copy it.

That is the air box I'm looking for, and it is a Honda front wheel.   I'm not worried about the Honda wheel at this point as it gives me a speedo.  I'm basically restoring the bike to get it rego'd here in Tassie. Preston Petty lights front and rear, speedo and trials tyres.
I just want to ride it around instead of having it sit in the shed.

....OK, got a pipe, looks like the airbox is underway, maybe got a seat, so now I'm looking at the tank.....does anyone know who restores the Husky tanks, especially the " chrome" side panels and of course the paint and lettering??
