The Shit They Sell on Ebay
« on: January 07, 2019, 11:31:06 pm »
This lever is for sale for $16 USD + post through a bike parts shop on Ebay.  Not sure what the tape measure is for, perhaps to check how much shorter the lever is once it was curled over like an elfs shoe. I'm not even sure how you could bend one around that much without snapping it.

yeah some sellers have no idea and sell junk that should be scrap metal after all all you are buying is a perch and pivot bolt and could buy it new down your local bike  shop for the same money or better

To be fair , the perch must be pretty strong , seeing the shape of the lever and it hasn't snapped !
And the lever hasn't shattered into 20 pieces like the cheap shit  cast Chinese ones do. { may be forged ? }
I reckon a bit of gentle heat and it could be good to go ,
looks like an early Yamaha ? generic Japanese ?  maybe handy for a restoration where modern levers wouldnt look right

{ i am not the seller by the way }

Correct . A H1 69 model original  purge like that would fetch $120 just like that . Unfortunately it does not have the hole for the mirror , otherwise it would be very very close . Or close enough for my project bike anyway .
VMX shocks , We don't just sell them - I design and produce them individually for you since 1989.

mate cleaned his old mans shed out of tools bits and pieces etc after he passed away and ended up with 20 or so boxes of stuff and being the big swap meet weekend put them on the nature strip for $20 a box.

an old guy stopped and poked about all the boxes for ages then came up with an old lever dowiki and said ill give you $20 for this. ol mate says "No, its the whole box or nuthin"..so the bloke takes the box..as he is about to go inside the old bloke holds up the lever and says " this is the last one of these in the world with this bit unbroken...its practically priceless..Thanks" and drove off...

I'm always amazed at people selling second hand airfilters and used cam chains.

jump onto spotify or some such music site and listen to Weird Al Yankovics' take on the EBAY song. You will laugh your arses off. Sung to the tune of I want it that way by the back street boys or one of those bands. Very funny, especially if you have first hand experience buying and selling on EBAY.
