It got canceled there 3 years ago for lack of numbers 30 odd entry’s .
I heard on the weekend they have had seven entered? No  Camping there is the big problem don’t no why they are trying to run it there again it didn’t work last time what’s the difference this time ?
There’s other tracks close buy they could run it at with camping allowed.

Ted a guy at lakes on the weekend told me the numbers and he was talking to Boyd during the week so I can’t say it is 100% right ?

Sorry Mick. I was asking Mick Slakewell where he gets his 150/200 numbers from.

Last meeting I went to in Qld, Mountain Man March 2018, would have had around 30 entrants spread over 6 eras.

Hi Ted
You have to confirm with Col but last time the nats was held there , I know the pre 78 classes were probably the biggest and they could not all fit on the grid.

So this was cancelled?
My friend showed up to spectate - no one there.

Grahame Boyd’s bike shop has gone into receivership unfortunately. I wonder if this is related.

I’m hesitant to pay my entry fee for the Newcastle Supermoto. Another “Boyd Promotions” event.

Ah that's no good, I hate it when bike shops go under, Tough industry ;), I wonder what's happening with his VMX collection?  He has some nice stuff :)

Apparently Bionic was on the local TV saying running a bike shop isn’t viable these days. Hard to argue. Partially due real estate prices, partially due online shopping/price comparison.

He went on to say he was going to continue promoting events.

Looking forward to the annual Newcastle Supermoto. Racing up Warf Road in the CBD next to Knobbys beach - Worth driving from QLD back to the old home town every year.
