KTM / BING Carburetor Jetting Specs.
« on: March 25, 2018, 04:48:43 pm »
Can some one in KTM land help me with the Carb Specs on Two Bing Carburetors

Firstly I have a 54/38/115. It was Dissassembled when purchased on Ebay.

It came complete but has no Slide or Needle jet.

I think it came from a 78/79 MX or 5/6 or GS 250.

It has a 65 Pilot 185 main, 280.2 Needle Jet.

By the Bing Data sheet it shoud have a 220 slide and 8L2 Needle .  Is this corrrect?.

The second carburetor is a 54/38/101. It was brought as Just a Bear Body No Jets.

I am not sure what it is off. Going again on the Bing data Sheet .

It is listed to fit a KTM MC 500 ?.

It is Litsed as being fitted with a 230 Slide , 190 main, 75 Pilot, Number 1 Steel Needle and

324Needle Jet.    It is Clamp on Mount not Rubber Manifold Type.

       Like Early Maico or Husky.

Just going from memory. 38mm Bing 35 to 45 pilot 230 slide 190 to 200 main and somewhere around 320 needle jet with #4 needle. #4 needles hard to get so go 6L2 with 284 needle jet ( l thinkJ. Being a slower rider I prefer 36 mm for 250. Hope this helps start you in the right direction
