i would say no,250's have slightly smaller extremities over the valve head ,smaller lock nuts ,,cam rubbing surface the same but,i know the covers don't interchange, bit of shrinkage there too  ;),not sure of strike length, looks similar??,i dont have any loose to compare,if nobody else chimes in ,i can compare later in the week? :P

Possibility Elliott Bros in Bendigo may have something, but the  only  person to speak to about it would be Noel Elliott, long time spares guru. They have a lot of old 60's 70's and 80's obsolete Honda parts but Noel is the only one who could locate them, 0354435555 is the phone number.

post up the dimensions of the rod and pin, I've probably got them written down somewhere here and have looked before without much joy. How bad is your rod as it is sometimes possible to reco with oversize pin/rollers.

I did think of this , but the machine shop i used said the big end is too hard for him to bore.... honda xl 350 37mm crankpin and 44mm big end...yam 660 raptor 37mm crankpin and 45mm bearing.... though i'd cracked it .. bore out existing honda rod to 45mm and use yam bearing and crankpin...nothing is easy..

Machining it out is the easy part. With 1 mm out the case hardening will be to thin, it should be possible to re-harden it after boring and then hone it to size afterwards. Some times it is possible to replace 3mm rollers with 1/8" rollers and hone the rod to suit. 1/8" is 3.175mm so 2 x that means .35mm to come out off rod. Takes a bit of honing but works quite well.

but the yam rods still 10 mm too long, std early 90's XR400 piston has lower deck height than XL's piston, thats why i use wiseco  XR ,it's higher comp in XR,but normal in XL use,not sure what the deck height actually is,but it might help, are the pin sizes the same, mabe a yamaha piston might work too??, :P
ina b/end bearing with outer sleeve?,bore/grind the honda rod to suit??,no need to reharden?

I have the XL350 at 128.5 centers and 20mm wide with the 37mm pin.
There is a KTM rod that is 129 long and 21.9 wide with a 35mm pin. Wouldn't be to hard to sleeve the crank back to 35 and machine some from each side.
The small end is 20mm.
The extra .5mm length should be easy to deal with an extra gasket or just get some extra compression.

its an old powroll stroker crank, so its already had the crank sleeved and the rod shrunk ...that makes the rod 124mm approx ... the yam rod has a 22mm small end thats easy enough get a bush made, the xr 400 piston has a 20mm pin but the xr 350 has a 21mm pin same as xl 350...i might have a go at shrinking the rod like powroll did back in the 70's..they made a jig up to hold the rod parallel ,put it in a press, heat the rod in the middle...http://xlintperformance.com/bill_bell.htm

Never been game to do that to a rod. When I did my own XL350 to 500 I used a plate under the barrel and left the rod stock length. The big end failed after I sold the bike and I reworked it using an XR400 rod which is 122.5 long and now it doesn't need the barrel spacer. Little end is 20mm but I used a Hotrod which comes with a bronze bush and I just bored it a little more and re-bushed it to 21mm.
