tt350 is a goody, not sure when the xr400 came out but they are fine, xr 600 still a good bike, husky 610, great machine for serious off road. good twoies are the husky and katos in that era especially the 400 husky and the 350 kato. good strong engines, good brakes breat handling.

KLR250, I think they are overlooked, DOHC liquid cooled 4 valve with front disk, 6 speed box, they rev hard and take it all day long, they came out in 1984 so could even be run in pre 85?

xr400's came out in 95 maybe 96,klr250's are great farm bikes but lack decent suspension for anything serious and the front disc lacks stopping power but looks the part,tt250's watchout for the fibre oil pump drive which doesn't like heat (yam dealer here kept them in stock).if it was me id go for a xr600 again, plenty of suspension/powerfull front disc brake and all the power you'd ever need and easy to get more

I'm quite fond of our XL250S, actually.... It ALWAYS starts first kick, even after a few months sitting there.... Handles well according to the period, of course. Mostly fun because of it's reliability though.
