Does YZ250J shock fit YZ125J ??

Awesome Bike Evo - as DJ says there is bugger all room for anything in there .  I bet that's a fun bike to ride.

Back on the topic - I have purchased said 250J shock.  Should go nicely into the 125J.  I didn't quite get Evo's point about the dampening knob fouling the tank if you fit the 125J to the 125H.  I was thinking I could possible have the spring shortened and reset (or would that be too much trouble?).  Would 8mm in length make that much difference to the rear height (and therefore steering geometry) ??  Was the 125H stable enouigh to be able to handle a change in teh steering angle ?  Will this make it giggle headed ??

YZ250H, the 250J shock should fit striaght into the 125J and the 125J shock will go into the 125H but you will have to give the top mounting point on the frame of the H a little tweak because the bush of the shock is about 1/2mm wider. The ride height and steering of the 125H should be ok. Maybe look at the spring preload lenght if you dont like how she rides/steers.

yz125 /250/490 shocks fit yz250/465g/h i have one in my 465 you have to tweak the top mount to make it slide in the shocks from memory are about 13mm longer but they have less shaft travel so you actually loose a bit of travel but the up side is you have compreesion adjustment so even though you have less travel it is better quality i found the best spring for me was the standard yz465h spring with preload set at100mm the differance between this shock and standard shock is like night and day also the comp adj does not hit tank

Thanks guys.  The 250J shock goes in 125J, 125J shock goes in 125H after being rebuilt - from what holeshot says I'll get the added bonus of compression damping adjustment .  Now all I need for the 125H is a swingarm and some wheels and a tank and a seat and a ............ .  I'll have to head over to the monoshock rebuild thread to see what they are up to.
You guys are a wealth of knowledge and have already saved me at least a few hundred bucks worth of swearing and cursing

I got the j shock in my 465 and had to use 8 mm ally spacers under the front tank mounts where they bolt onto the tank. This raised the tank slightly and cleared the comp dampening knob/housing, but comp damping is still too high even with the setting right out. need to get new shock or have this one operated on. I have heard of people modifying the fox coil over shock used for off road trucks. It seems to have the same dimensions and has 8inch long remote reservoir too.
