Two very cold mornings here this weekend. I copped a nice spray of cold water when I went to fill a stock trough and the water bounced off the sheet of ice on the surface!  :o

Winter was shocking this year. We had it Tuesday week ago between 8 and 8.45 in the morning. Had to roll my sleaves down for a while.

Well we had a really good day last Tuesday week, by 3.00 in the afternoon it had warmed up quite nicely and we were able to enjoy it until it started to cool down for the night at 3.15

Production slowed down on Sat morning when I went to turn the water tap on for coolant for my welding torch only to find the tap was broken and wouldn't turn on.
Curses.
Looked at it again a few hours later to check what size tap I needed to buy only to find it was working fine.
Doh, it had been frozen shut

That sounds like a normal winter overnight minimum around here!
A cold morning here is around -10 to -12, at my old workplace there was an area of concrete that would freeze solid after rain and not thaw out all the next day as it never saw the sun in the winter months. That caught a few out when they ended up sitting on their arse unexpectedly!
I usually know if the temp goes below -8 when I leave for work in the morning, if the dam next to my driveway is frozen, then its -8 or colder.
It was frozen this morning.
Tony.
