Hilly they are totally rebuildable and they do work but they work best at top speed over the rough stuff. In saying that you could play with the air pressure until you are happy with it. Kits always come up on ebay(us) or you could go to an seal and bearing shop and they should be able to replace the seals and o-rings.

I agree Hooney, their seems to be more 79 (F) ones around than D/E or G. They are usually stamped with the date of manufacture on them and it always seems to be for the following year. i.e shock is stamped 9/78 but it is for a F '79 model.

Well i finally got my Foxshock rebuilt ,I got the seal kit from Geoff Bull and i had a wear band made by Renhel in Dandenong, I just fitted it up tonight and it feels nice and solid ,so if it stops raining i will test it tomorrow and try a few settings and see how it goes .It would nice to have a shock that will hold up as the stock unit was to soft .

Well i finally got to ride on my New Foxshock and after a trying a few settings i'm very happy with the results . It seems to hook up and drive well and take's big hits without kicking  and that was on a rough track . So i'm happy and so is my back .
