Ive been looking on DCVMX.com, MaierUsA and Evo-mx.com at plastics and stickers and just wondering which ones people think are better and etc

Have DC plastics on two bikes. Theyare  just fine. DC also sells 2nds on ebay from time to time. Got fenders $25 each and side panels for$50 a pair plus shipping. Decent fit and probably beter than ald cracked OEM ones. Get them from states. Seems to be cheaper than local selers from my experience.

Keep an eye on us eBay. They show up now and than. Seller is called DCplastic or something like that. You may have to wait for them to come up. They only have 2nds now and than. There is nothing wrong with plastic just minor skratches.

Get yourself the maier plastics if u can... https://maier-mfg.com/dirt.html?cat=33 They are brilliant quality.  You don't need to do any prep for your frame except fix your rust hole. I just took a shitty frame to the powder coasters in wa. About $180 to blast, prime and gloss black. They did all the prep and taping off. Frame looks new. I just tapped the threads when I got it back...

personally i would prefer old ones with a little wear but i cant find any ahahah
and yeah, hopefully dropping it off to be sand blasted this week, and then might have to do some welding as the sub frame has a small rust hole and the main frame has a small hole that looks like its happen after taking a very heavy hit somewhere along the line, so after the sand blasting we can see the extent of the damage.. which will hopefully be very minimal haha

I would get the frame bead blasted not sand blasted .
And two pack it just my two bobs.

So we picked the frame up from the sandblasters yesterday to then take to the powder coaters and while walking out of the sandblasters my dad bumped into his mate who custom paints cars and bikes for a living, so he took the frame instead because he has specialized paints that are as thick as powder coating,and he knows all the dos and dont with the bolt threads and etc, so hopefully we will get it back next week and ill post so progress photos

How does the colour of the 84 Maier plastics math the original ?

You have to do a bit of homework for your individual model, but the maier front guard for my 1983 xr500r was perfect fit, exact replica, glossy and colour was perfect match to my Oem panels.

In the Maier brand rear guards for my model they only have the colour option as orange? i wonder if that would match as they arnt exactly the deepest red plastics, so maybe they are classified as orange but im worried it might turn up ktm orange haha

I tried looking through my old receipts but couldn't find the exact details. For the 83-84 XR's, they had a really nice red. I am pretty sure it's what they call the orange. It's not a dark red, it's an orange red.. Here is my maier orange front mudguard.

I think you are both right.  The "Orange" colour seems to be the go for the 84 models.

The one on the XR is a very good match.
