Not VMX, Bultaco TSS long shot
« on: November 14, 2016, 08:16:58 PM »
Hoping for a bit of luck, just picked up this TSS roller, it's all Bultaco. Would like to find a 360 or 250 Pursang, Bandito etc motor to drop in it.
 This is what I got

And this is how I'd like it to end up looking

If anyone has something that might work and they would be interested in selling please message me, thanks for looking, Terry.
Ps, already thrown the front mudguard before anyone comments

Hi,
If it is a frame number 29xxx it is a very rare bike with less than fifty made if my memory is correct.
The correct engine is a 350 TSS which is based on the Bandito / Montadero engine(centre port 360 engine)
Australia got very few of these bikes,so this bike has a high value.Good find.

What an awesome find Tezza.
Moto's comments about the the Bandito motors brings back some memories.

I may have been about 10/11 when I had a double on the back of a Bandito, on the old straight line dump road.
Although I had just experienced the surge of a rotary valve Kawa Bushwacker,,, nothing could prepare me for the
brute acceleration of the big Bandito engine 8) Hooked on two strokes for life, I put a bandito brochure on the wall and
Stared at it for years.
I finally rocked up at Stormy Normie's with cash to buy one. Too late, too much time had passed.
So I caught the bus to Islington motorcycles and bought a new Maico of a guy called Terry S, instead.
So many memories 8) ;D

Cool find, good on you.

"light weight, and it works great"  :)

Still hoping there's a Pursang, Bandito, Montadero etc motor out there somewhere, meanwhile rubbing it hard hoping a genie appears  :)

Hi Tez,
What do you plan on doing with the bike? There is a lot if work to do without the engine if you are doing a  resto. An engine will turn up eventually.Keep looking.

Moto,
Restore it, already picked up the correct fairing and inner guard (thanks Mick), got the paint, going to spray tank, seat, fairing etc while on hols in two weeks. When I get onto a motor I can weld in the mounts to suit then blast and powdercoat the frame, polish the alloy, new brakes, fork seals and tyres, do the shocks and then hopefully take it for a run, oh and also a smiths tacho would be good  :).  Sounds easy haha
Also forgot pipe and controls, be nice whenever it's finished I'm hoping
