Got any pics and are they being imported to Australia? I heard that they will have ECE 22.05 approval which is now acceptable for use on public roads in Australia.

i've just seen that some shops are advertising available now, not 100% sure they are available off the shelf but if not, they wont be far away. Fibreglass /composite shell, removable washable liner, CE certified.

I still have an original in the box , i wore it once 40 yrs ago and decided it was heavy and claustrophobic.

I have a new Bell open face helmet, looks the part but i had a huge crash in it back in April , i was out cold for a number of minutes . I am still feeling the effects of that crash enough to have stopped competitive riding . No physical injuries to speak of but it really screwed my head , the polystyrene has cracked inside and the helmet did its job to a point .
However it is a relatively cheap Helmet built to a price , i imagine the replica moto 3 will be the same .

I prefer open face helmets always have done . I used to buy Shoei RJ open face helmets but they changed the shape and i dont like the new ones .

I wish i was wearing my Shoei when i crashed though .

My point is they might look cool and meet stds but they will probably be built to a much lower spec than a decent helmet .

You only got one head , and mine is currently Fuct . it might have been a different story in an Arai or Shoei   :-\

Buy one for show but dont risk your canister by racing in a budget built (probably not budget priced ) helmet
Its only old bike racing FFS get over yourselves

Q "You only got one head , and mine is currently Fuct . it might have been a different story in an Arai or Shoei   :-\"

Remember the old Bell adverts? "If you have a $10 head, wear a $10 helmet..."
Or the axiom: "If you are thinking about skimping on a helmet, think about what you put in it!"

I've always been an Arai road helmet buyer.
Had Arai, Bell (original Moto3) AGV,  Aeroh (current MX), Shoei (current ADV) and a few "plastic cheapies" :o, off road.

The subject "re-issue Moto 3" looks like a high quality rig, but my next off road lid is likely to be either a 6D or MIPS ? Equipped Bell or Fox. I think the extra protection from rotational force trumps even the super lightweight of the Aeroh, just, maybe. Love the super light weight Aeroh

The Bell Moto III did not come out in 1971 as stated on the link Kenneth put up. The original Bell Moto Star was about 1974/5 in Australia from memory the Moto III was about 1981 would be my guess.

1971 was Bell's first motorcycle specific range. I bought the original Moto Star in early 1976 after a mate of mine smashed his face on the cross bar of an RM125S. Bought a Moto III in early 80's
