Hi,I am changing the gear box and clutch oil on my 1973 Cappra. Could someone please give me information on what type of oils and amounts are required. Thanks.

300ml ATF in the clutch. Just basic old style ATF for the 3sp borg warners, not the flash stuff for modern autos.
500ml 330ml straight 80 or 90 gear oil for gearbox.

Sorry for the correction. 500ml is for the VB series forward

I would suggest not using ATF in the clutch. I have seen what it does and it's not pretty! Ruins the plates. Stick with what the factory recommends. 10/30wt motor oil.

10W30 is the recommended clutch oil.

I have used ATF at the recommendation of Barry Ryan in all my Montesa bikes since 1975 and never had a problem. It is possible that I have been lucky I guess. I don't see how the ATF could adversely affect the metal to metal clutch but I guess anything is possible.

Having said that 10W30 will work fine so if in doubt use that.
