Take care Geoff, I've got a mate with the same issue, not a pleasant situation at all.

On the other hand I'm assuming this is yet another ploy to avoid coming up to Conondale?

I rang John Fawkner hospital this afternoon to enquire how the great man was. After the usual run around being put on hold and being transferred a voice comes on the phone and says hello. I introduce myself and ask if he can update me of Geoffs condition and if possible I may speak to him. Imagine my shock when the voice sombrely says I'm sorry but Mr Morris has passed away. Oh shit I say and momentarily lost control of my car. Then I hear laughing........... Remember revenge is a dish best served cold Geoffrey! In the meantime great to hear all went well. Cheers J

Speedy recovery mate.  Try and relax during your time off if that's possible.  Don't get back into it too quickly.  I am sure the orders can wait a little longer.

hope you have a good result Geoff. wifes family have had long history with it so I know what your dealing with. SIL recently went back in after a 20 year respite and had a bad section removed. unfortunately all her bowel was "stuck" together from the old operations and scarring so they took the lot out on to an adjacent table and played straighten the hose with it all so they could find the dodgy bit. that worked out well, and she was put back together. a side affect of that is it can take two to three weeks for the bowel to recommence operations after a hiding like that and she was in hospital for two months on  drip feed until the bowel decided to go back to work. she is back to her normal 1 bottle of red per day now....
tough gig, hope it all works out ok for you.

cheers

Thanks for all the comments guys

The resto went well, a 3 hour rebuild that was done while the motor was still running :o
Tuned length is now 300mm shorter, will have to wait and see if it makes me go any harder

Couple of rolls of duct tape should fix it,  just dont try doing it yourself mate. Ive seen your water tank pics;)
 All the best Geoff

Point taken on my water tank repairs, funny thing though, while they didn't use duct tape I have got what looks like packing tape over the incision!

"Taking a break" implies that some kind of activity was taking place beforehand!

Your a worry Tex, your starting to sound like my wife!

Hope all goes well with the surgery Geoff. I'm surprised you function at all with that bastard of  Disease....

Yeah I have my days but most of the time I can pretend to be 'normal'

I hope I have not affended any one with my dark humour, I know and feel the pain of loss and suffering
And sincirely wish Geoff all the best and a speedy recovery

You certainly haven't offended me mate

Take care Geoff, I've got a mate with the same issue, not a pleasant situation at all.

On the other hand I'm assuming this is yet another ploy to avoid coming up to Conondale?

I may actually use it as an excuse to come up to Conondale this year, just have to see how I feel when I get out as the timing will be tight.

Remember revenge is a dish best served cold Geoffrey! In the meantime great to hear all went well. Cheers J

He may have already got me with his Voodoo doll Hoony, I went backwards a bit after I pulled that sly crime.

Ah yes, but since I've had Bowel surgery I'm not the same arsehole I used to be  ;D

Sounds like she has had a hard time too, apparently I was a mess inside too with lots of adhesions and yes its a big shock to the system and it can take a while for the bowel to reboot, currently sitting around now on a drip waiting for it to start up, fortunately I have always been a good healer (which always makes me wonder why my stupid body self destructs like this) and I am already taking in fluids okay.
By the time I am ready for full Hospital meals they will kick me out which may not be a bad thing ;D
