90* Airfilterbend
« on: May 08, 2016, 07:18:18 am »
Hello.
I just started making sidecovers for my Cheney Honda XL350 sideport.
I need a 90 degree bend from the carb (Mikuni 36) to the airfilter (through the sidecover)
Any ideas where or from what bike I can find one??
Thanks :)

Preferably a bit longer than this one, so I don't have to use the alloy tube.

I needed a hose for a bike I did recently; I needed a 90 degree bend followed by a 45 degree bend with 45mm ID, found the perfect item on ebay for $9  :-)

What about this 1977 to 1979 Yamaha YZ125 IT175 boot. The smaller diameter end clamps to the Mikuni 34mm.

we use a lot of bends when doing trbo and inter-cooler work, available from ebay, hot rod shops, and some trucking suppliers, in lots of colours too, red, blue, yellow, green etc....

Thanks for all the tips guys! :D

I'll look into the carparts then.

I just hope it isn't super thick reinforced rubber in them.

The YZ part looks great, only I think it's a bit short, I'd really like the joint to airfilter to be well inside the cover.

I just want plain oldscool rubber, no high gloss or coloured silicone.

You could also try a plumbing supplier, they have all sorts of bends and connectors.

Very nice bike by the way. The only thing that could make it better would be if it was mine!
Arrogance.....A way of life for the those that having nothing further to learn.

Ola have a look at fuel filler hoses and ADBLUE diesel hoses around the filler area as these are not reinforced typically and nitrile they are about 3.8 to 4.2 mm wall
(Volvo Truck)

Also GMH hoses and Opel are typically the thinest at 4mm- 4.5mm wall EDPM hoses

Sorry you are not that close but i do work for the last Australian Hose manufacturer  :-X :-X

Good Luck with it mate A truly Stunning Build by the way
