94 YZ250 Peter Jackson project
« on: April 14, 2016, 08:27:11 am »
I just picked up a 94 YZ250 and am going to do a Ashkenazi Peter Jackson replica.
Im hoping people may have some pics of this bike.I can only find 2 pics and one has silver rims and one blue rims,Id like to recreate the bike with silver rims to keep costs down.
Also can anyone recommend someone who could make the seat cover for me with the red and yellow stripes and the Peter Jackson logos?
Cheers,James.

Mario from topline in Vic is the guy for the seat cover.

Send an email off to CDR and ask nicely if Craig would supply some details, you never know your luck.

are you planning on painting the plastics or making stickers James? I recall the Marlboro bikes of Bell ,Deakin and Melton (late 80's) were painted plastics.

I was planning on painting them but was going to get the seat cover made first then match the blue, yellow and red paint to it.

This is the bike I plan on copying. It wont be a nut and bolt replica, just a tidy up,rebuild and paint like this one.I wanted to do an 89 Malboro bike but the 94 came up from a mate as a good deal and with the pre 95 class I thought it would be fun and catch some eyes at the track.Plus its the era I grew up in watching super cross.
Any advice what paint to use?Not sure if Protec is still around.

I've got nothing useful to add, but I wanted to say that I think this is a great project.

There's a bloke on DBW who is doing a 93 Bradshaw replica. That is also a great project.

Blue rims came on the '92 Dacka's bike, The 93/4 bikes had silver I'm sure. Google Image search brings up heaps of pics.

Good luck trying to find an arrow pipe for your YZ James, even a 93 94 era pro circuit works is tough to find. If you are cashed and want nice pieces like the arrow exhaust try vintage bike ads. You see some unbelievable parts available on that site from time to time - real works parts from all eras but certainly priced to match.
