Cz wheel bearings
« on: April 02, 2016, 08:44:22 pm »
Anyone know if the rear wheel bearings for 73 380 can be replaced with a modern day sealed bearing ? If so anyone know the bearing numbers ?
Also anyone know what tapered roller bearings and seals fit the steering stem ? And is there any machining required to fit them ?
Thanks

Have a set of sealed bearings to fit sitting on my tool chest, if I remember when I head home from work I'll look up the numbers otherwise it will have to wait until I wake up in the arvo
You need a thin sleeve over the shaft to run taper rollers & no other alterations, I couldn't get the seals from the same place as the bearings but they are available. The kit Charlie Richardson does has the sleeve but I'm not sure about the seals. I may still have the box for the bearings

Wheel bearings
Wide 3205 A-2RS1TN9/MT33
Narrow 6204 2RSH

Steering head bearings 30YMI-C8YI from what I can see
The steering head bearings came from wemoto who have an Australian site as well now, looks like they may have the seals as well. The bearing & seal is the same as the lower for my TY250c from all balls from memory

OD 48mm
ID 30mm
Height 12.2mm

Seal
ID 32mm
OD 49mm approx.
Height 3.5mm approx

It might be worth asking for clarification on the sizing but I suspect this is what you want

Using the 30mm ID bearing allows a decent wall thickness for the sleeve

If you need me to confirm the numbers on the bearings it will have to wait until Wednesday arvo after I've woken up after finishing night shift for the week

Thanks tony , are the wheel bearing the same for red and black frame models ? I know the wheels don't fit but think it's the centre spacer that's different

Correct, only the spacer is different . Can't remember exactly how much the brake side is shorter on the red frame but when I fitted the Falta arm I had to modify mine
